Meanwhile, Mercedes Benz was acclaimed as the best Luxury Automotive Brand of the Year followed by BMW, Lexus, Cadillac and Acura. This is the second time that Mercedes Benz has managed to get the top slot. Whereas back in India, Mercedes Benz has been pushed to the third pedestal by BMW and Audi that have become the top luxury car brands in India. As the US market is gasoline (petrol) governed, Honda became the top players, whereas it gradually wants presence in India as there is significant shift of preference from petrol cars to diesel cars in the country. Though Honda is planning a comeback with Honda Brio diesel and Honda City diesel launches in the near future.
