Honda Elevate SUV Hits 30,000 Sales Milestone in India
Honda Cars India's flagship SUV, the Elevate, has achieved a significant milestone by selling 30,000 units since its launch in September 2023. Sharing its platform with the 5th generation City, Elevate achieved this number within six months of its introduction to the market.
Competing against strong rivals such as the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, and others including the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Volkswagen Taigun, the Elevate has established itself as a formidable contender in the Indian SUV segment. Under the hood, Honda Elevate receives power from a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine generating 119 bhp of power and 145 Nm of torque, the Elevate offers a choice between a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission with 7 steps. Honda has confirmed its focus on an all-electric variant in the near future, with no plans for diesel or hybrid alternatives.
Available in four variants - SV, V, VX, and ZX - with automatic transmission options across all except the base SV variant, the Elevate's price ranges from ₹11.58 lakh to ₹16.20 lakh (ex-showroom). In an interesting move, Honda has initiated exports of the Elevate from India to Japan, marking the first instance of such a venture for Honda Cars India. Rebranded as the 'WR-V' in Japan, the SUV undergoes slight cosmetic alterations and feature adjustments for the Japanese market. This milestone underscores Honda's commitment to innovation and expansion, with exports extending to left-hand drive markets such as Turkey, Mexico, and the Middle East, as well as right-hand drive markets including Nepal, Bhutan, South Africa, and SADC countries.
