Ford Unveils Mustang: The muscular car in Indian Car market
Ford India the Indian arm of U.S based car maker Ford has finally unveiled its classical sedan Mustang also known as a “muscle car” in Indian car maker quite before the organisation of Indian Auto Expo 2016, confirming its launch during 2nd quarter of this year after showcasing the same during Auto Expo. The American muscular car in Indian continent will be brought through CBU route and will be energized with 5.0 litre V8 engine generating the power 420 horsepower torque of 529Nm it is expected to be priced about Rs. 60 lakh.
The version of Mustang unveiled in Indian car market is its sixth generation, the first generation of this powerful and muscular car launched back in 1964 and since then it has marked its presence in various movies, television shows, music albums and video games. Interestingly the sixth edition of this American giant continues the shadow of its ancestors in form of minimised rear portion, followed by enlarged bonnet. However, the new Mustang embellishes minimised roof and broad rear fenders which differentiates it from its predecessors.
Explaining the design of new Mustang, Nick Eterovic, Manager of Interior Design Strategy with Ford Asia Pacific said that “Mustang will always be a muscle car and its latest design cues are only inspired by it. When mechanics begin defining a car (like in Mustang), it is about balancing it with the design. Much of that in Mustang is about making it look planted and strong."
The Indian specified version of Mustang continues same regular features namely LED tail lamps, LED equipped HID head lamps, electronic line lock, dual zone HVAC system, adaptive cruise control system, rain sensing wipers, independent rear suspension system, electronic line lock, blind spot information system with cross traffic alert, dual front air bags supported with additional curtain knee bags and few more.
