First Fleet Of Tata Tigor EV Handed To Ministry Of AYUSH
In continuation of its contract with the Department of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), domestic carmaker Tata Motors has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH) for the supply Tigor EV to encourage the use of electric vehicles by the government departments. The first fleet of these electric cars was handed by Mr. Raj Kumar Luthra, General Manager, EESL to Mr. P.N. Ranjit Kumar, Joint Secretary (Admin), Ministry of AYUSH.
It would be interesting to know that with an objective to encourage the use of electric vehicles among people the government of India has decided to provide electric vehicles to all the departments under central and state governments, through EESL. Interestingly, the home-grown carmaker Tata Motors along with its subsidiary companies Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Autocompa, Tata Motors Finance, and Croma is working intensively on electric mobility within the country and develop an e-mobility ecosystem, “Tata uniEVerse”.
Recently, to motivate the sales of EVs in the country the carmaker also introduced the subscription scheme for its best-selling compact SUV Nexon EV. Anyone willing to drive the Nexon EV to his home can avail the benefits of this subscription plan by paying Rs. 41,900/- per month for 36 months. Along with this plan, there are two more subscription plans for 18 months and 24 months for which the monthly EMI is Rs. 47,900 and Rs. 44,900 respectively. The EMI for these periods is less according to the duration of the subscription. For this, the company has tied-up with Orix Auto Infrastructure Services Limited, one of the leading leasing companies in the entire country. At present this facility is being offered only in five cities Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.
To avail the facility of subscription the whole process has been made online. The buyers availing this facility will be offered additional benefits like on-call roadside assistance plus free maintenance with periodic servicing and doorstep delivery, comprehensive insurance. Freedom of installing the personal EV charger installed either at home or office, according to their requirement.
