Buying These Cars To Get Costlier From February 2025
The increasing cost of raw materials across the world has compelled carmakers in India to hike the prices of their offerings in the Indian car market but transfer their burden to customers. According to industry reports leading car manufacturing companies Maruti Suzuki India Limited and Honda Cars India Limited have announced to hike the prices of their portfolio from February 2025. It is reported that the Indo-Japanese carmaker and the country's premier car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited will hike the prices of its products up to 4%. This price hike will apply to the products including the recently launched compact sedan Dzire. As an impact of the price hike, buying the compact sedan Dzire will get expensive by Rs 27,100 for its base variant and Rs 40,560 for its top-end variant.

Similar to MSIL, another Japanese carmaker Honda Motors which has extended the introductory price of its refreshed Amaze till January 2025 has confirmed to revise the prices of all its items in February 2025.
Updated Prices for Dzire and Amaze
Both the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze, refreshed in 2024, come with updated ex-showroom price tags.
2024 Honda Amaze:
V Variant: Starts at ₹7.99 lakh.
VX Variant: ₹9.10 lakh (manual) and ₹10 lakh (CVT).
ZX Variant: ₹9.70 lakh (manual) and ₹10.90 lakh (CVT).
2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire:
LXi Variant: ₹6.79 lakh, making it ₹1.20 lakh more affordable than Amaze’s base variant.
VXi Variant: ₹7.79 lakh (manual), ₹8.24 lakh (AMT), and CNG option starting at ₹8.74 lakh.
ZXi Variant: ₹8.89 lakh (manual) and ₹9.34 lakh (AMT).
ZXi Plus Variant: ₹9.69 lakh (manual) and ₹10.14 lakh (AMT).
Engine Specifications
Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z-series petrol engine, it delivers 80 bhp and 112 Nm torque. The Dzire is also available in a factory-fitted CNG option, offering eco-friendly alternatives.
Honda Amaze: Equipped with a 1.2-litre iVTEC petrol engine, the Amaze generates 89 bhp and 110 Nm torque. Buyers can opt for a five-speed manual gearbox or a CVT transmission.
Competitive Edge:
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire maintains its edge with a lower entry price and the availability of a CNG variant, catering to budget-conscious and environmentally aware consumers. On the other hand, the Honda Amaze offers ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), adding a premium appeal for safety-conscious buyers. Although this price will directly affect the buying decision of buyers in the Indian car market compared to new technical features this price increase will compensate their concern.
