Brochure of Maruti Suzuki Ignis revealed in cyber world

Ignis, the sub-compact SUV from Indo-Japanese car maker is going to be one the major attractions at the pavilion of country’s leading car manufacturer MSIL during the upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2016 scheduled to be held in February. The sub-compact SUV has been in news during last couple of months at different news platforms enhancing the curiosity of car enthusiasts towards this proposed vehicle. But, now it is for the first time that details pertaining to Ignis have been revealed in Internet world revealing the complete information about the vehicle.

Earlier showcased as conceptual car codenamed as Suzuki iM4 by Japanese car maker, the first glimpse of crossover Ignis was showcased during the Tokyo Motor Show 2015 where it was showcased as Ignis Trail concept. Well coming back to the looks as revealed in brochure it will be offered in petrol version integrated with SHVS mild hybrid system. The Durajet petrol engine has displacement capacity of 1,242cc and boosts the power of 89.75 bhp along with 3bhp extra power generated by the motor configured with it. The engine will be mated with CVT gearbox transmission system which would be standard on all variants. Apart from CVT gear box, ABS and EBD will also offered as standard facility in all variants. It will be available in both 2WD and 4WD driving option with 2WD delivering an average of 28 kmpl while 4WD delivering an average of 15.4 kmpl.

On the front fascia it will received LED projector headlamps mounted on both the sides of front grille, followed by chrome garnished fog lamps integrated on front bumper. The ORVMs have been developed with turn indicators and therefore it is expected to operate electronically. Inside the cabin it will receive automatic climate control system, steering wheel mounted controls, and infotainment system supporting connectivity with USB and Bluetooth. There would be overall three trims namely  Hybrid MZ, Hybrid MX and Hybrid MG.

After its unveil during Indian Auto Expo 2016 the sub compact SUV is expected to be launched in Indian car market during the festive season with price tag varying between Rs. 3 lakh and Rs. 5 lakh. In Indian car market it will compete against Toyota Etios Cross, Mahindra KUV 100 and proposed G-Cross by Datsun.
