Book Volkswagen R-Line For Rs 51,000, Launch This Month
The German car maker Volkswagen has officially started accepting bookings for its upcoming Tayron R-Line SUV in India. The SUV is scheduled for launch later this month. With this, the German automaker is set to enter the premium three-row SUV segment in the country. The prospective buyers can book the seven-seater SUV by paying a token amount of Rs 51,000, either at authorised Volkswagen dealerships or through the brand’s official online channels.

The Tayron R-Line will be locally assembled in India and positioned as Volkswagen’s new flagship SUV for the Indian market. It is developed on the MQB EVO platform, outsourced from Tiguan R-Line. The SUV will be powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine producing 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. According to the sources, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds, with a top speed of 224 kmph.
AS a premium SUV, the Tayron R-Line will be equipped with all contemporary features. including IQ. Light HD Matrix LED headlamps, distinctive R-Line styling elements, 19-inch alloy wheels, and illuminated Volkswagen logos at the front and rear. Volkswagen claims the SUV combines traditional SUV proportions with a strong German design appeal.
Inside, the Tayron R-Line offers the combination of substantial space, comfort, and technology. The notable features offered inside the cabin include a panoramic sunroof, ergonomic front seats, a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and an augmented reality head-up display. The front seats offer 12-way electric adjustment, along with ventilation, massage, memory, and lumbar support. Ambient lighting with 30 colour options and an illuminated R insert further enhances the cabin experience.
The carmaker has not left any stone unturned in the integration of all safety features. The SUV comes equipped with nine airbags, electronic stability control, hill ascent and descent control, and multiple drive modes. It also features Level 2 ADAS with 14 driver assistance functions. Other interior features include three-zone climate control, a gesture-controlled tailgate, a 700-watt Harman Kardon audio system, wireless charging, and dual high-power USB-C ports.
Volkswagen will offer the Tayron R-Line in seven exterior colour options, including Dolphin Grey, Oyster Silver, Ultraviolet, Cipressino-Green, Nightshade Blue, Grenadilla Black, and Oryx White Mother-of-Pearl. With the Tayron R-Line, Volkswagen aims to strengthen its presence in India’s premium SUV space alongside models such as the Taigun, Virtus, and Tiguan R-Line.
