600+ Electric SUVs Delivered by Mahindra In a Day

The domestic carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra has created a remarkable milestone in the Indian electric vehicle market. According to the company source, the carmaker has sold more than 600 electric SUVs in a single day across the country. The information regarding this was made by the company through its official social media platforms, highlighting a strong start to the festive season.

Festive Momentum Drives Deliveries

According to Mahindra, this achievement was possible due to the arrival of the Ugadi festival, the Hindu New Year, which is traditionally considered an auspicious time for purchasing new vehicles. The automaker shared a creative featuring customers taking delivery of their electric SUVs at various dealerships nationwide. The campaign emphasised the message: “600+ eSUVs delivered in one day. A strong festive start for India.”

Expanding Its Electric Portfolio

The deliveries included models from Mahindra’s growing Electric range, which currently comprises the XEV 9e, XEV 9e Cinelux, XEV 9S, BE6, and BE6 Formule E (BE6 FE). Based on the INGLO platform, the design of all these vehicles is created considering the demand for EVs by the next generation. Apart from these vehicles, Mahindra also offers the XUV400 and XUV 3XO EV in the Indian market.

Overcoming Global Rivals

In an interesting development, Mahindra’s single-day EV deliveries surpassed the monthly EV sales figures of several international automakers operating in India. Hyundai reported sales of 341 electric vehicles in February, while Kia registered 377 units during the same period. Even Vinfast, one of the fastest-growing EV brands in the country, recorded 421 units in February—lower than Mahindra’s one-day milestone.

Strong Demand for Electric Origin SUVs

Mahindra’s EV success story began with the launch of the BE6 and XEV 9e in November 2024. Both models quickly gained the attention of buyers, thanks to their premium positioning and aspirational appeal. Priced at Rs 18.9 lakh and Rs 21.9 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively, these SUVs collectively recorded over 30,000 unit sales within the first seven months of launch. This means that the company sold out one unit of both these vehicles every 10 minutes during that period. The popularity of these models was further boosted by their adoption among celebrities, business leaders, and public figures, creating a strong aspirational pull in the market.

XEV 9S Emerges as Bestseller

Mahindra expanded its EV portfolio with the introduction of the XEV 9S, its first three-row electric SUV, along with the BE6 Formula E variant. Deliveries of the XEV 9S began in late January 2026, and early sales data indicate that it has already become the brand’s best-selling electric model, surpassing both the BE6 and XEV 9e in February. The SUV’s competitive pricing, conventional design, spacious cabin, and smart packaging have resonated well with buyers. Despite strong demand, the model currently carries a waiting period, which is expected to ease in the coming months as production scales up.

Positive Outlook for Festive Season

Mahindra’s EV division has kicked off the festive season on a high note, with robust demand and increasing market acceptance. With upcoming festivals such as Navaratri, the company is expected to maintain its strong sales momentum and continue ramping up deliveries across India.
