May 27, 2025: German carmaker Volkswagen has finally launched its premium hatchback Golf GTI in the Indian car market with a starting price of Rs 5300000 (ex-showroom price). Mechanically, the Golf GTI receives a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, generating a power of 245 hp and a torque of 370Nm. The transmission duties will be performed by a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DSG) system. According to company sources, it has sold 150 units of the hatchback in India and plans to bring 100 more units to meet its growing demand.
