Toyota launches Etios Cross in South Africa
July 18, 2014: The Etios Cross for the South African market is the same car recently launched in India. Much like the Volkswagen Cross Polo, the Etios Cross is a beefed up version of the Etios hatchback. Equipped with a body kit that includes new bumpers, roof-rails and plastic side mouldings, the car also gets diamond cut alloy wheels. The changes inside the cabin include a black theme with a piano-black center console. The seats get 'Cross' badging and since the Cross is only available as a top-end variant, dual airbags, ABS and EBD are offered as standard.

May 7, 2014: Toyota Motors has launched the new member in Etios family after Etios and Liva, named as Cross. The new Etios Cross has been launched in both petrol and diesel variants with three engine options. 1.2 litre petrol and 1.5 litre petrol engine options in petrol variant and 1.4 litre diesel engine in diesel variant. The major features offered in Etios Cross includes piano black interiors, fabric seats of superior quality, high defined 2 Din audio system supporting connectivity with USB, Bluetooth, USB, Aux-in, leather wrapped steering wheeling with mounted audio controls, dual front SRS airbags, ABS+EBD, and various others.
Toyota Etios Cross Expert Review
Toyota Etios Cross is one of the highly acclaimed vehicles from Japanese auto giant Toyota Motors in Indian car market. The Etios Cross further explores the family Etios and Etios Liva to next level and therefore carries most of its features from its elder sibling but in highly modified and advanced form. Both these engines deliver the fuel efficient performance of 17.1 kmpl and 16.78 kmpl respectively. Moving towards the diesel variant it is energized with 1.4 litre 4 cylinder 8 valve SOHC engine with displacement capacity of 1364cc, churning the power of 68 PS at 3800 rpm and torque of 170 Nm at 1800 to 2400 rpm. Toyota Etios Pick up and acceleration:
Offered with three engine options in petrol and diesel variants, the petrol version equipped with 1.2 litre petrol engine accelerates the speed from standstill to 100 kmph within the span of 14 seconds and is capable of picking up the top speed of 150 kmph. The petrol version with 1.5 litre petrol engine grabs the speed from zero to 100 kmph in short span of 12 seconds and accelerates the maximum speed of 160 kmph. On the other diesel variant catches the speed from zero to 100 kmph within the period of 18 seconds and top speed of 160 kmph.

As the Etios Cross further extends the family of Etios to next level, it carries most of its features from both Etios sedan and Liva hatchback with few developments. The interiors receive piano black color treatment followed by black garnish on door panels and central console along with silver garnish on steering wheel. Apart from this air conditioners vents also receive the silver garnish treatment. Apart from offering comfort features like air conditioner, the major attraction of interiors includes integration of 2 DIN music system which supports connectivity with Bluetooth, USB, Aux-in. The headlight cluster is similar to one offered in Liva hatchback along with halogen lamps. The black colored front bumper receives broad air intake along with fog lamps followed by turn indicators placed just before the fog lamps.
