Tata Zest Sportz Edition launched
August 22, 2016: Domestic car maker Tata Motors has launched the special edition of its compact sedan Zest in Indian car market to celebrate two years of its successful existence and an achievement of selling 50,000 units of vehicle during this period. The special edition has been christened as Tata Zest Sportz Edition. Apart from additional accessories the Sportz Edition is also offered with additional benefits including exchange bonus of Rs. 30,000, free insurance of Rs. 30,000 and extra benefits of Rs. 68,000.
Tata Zest Celebration Edition launched
October 13, 2015: To lure Indian car enthusiasts towards its compact sedan Zest, domestic car maker Tata Motors has launched its Celebration Edition equipped with some new features like Piano black colored ORVMs, Anniversary embroidered seat at front side, powered rear windscreen curtain, illumined scuff plates and few more.
Tata introduces one more variant XTA in Zest equipped with AMT system
March 11, 2015: Domestic car maker Tata Motors has introduced one more variant in its diesel trim which would now be the top end variant in diesel trim and has been named as Tata Zest XTA. The new variant bestows 1.3 litre multijet diesel engine boosting the power of 90 PS at 400 rpm and torque of 200 Nm at 1750-3000 rpm. It is coated with AMT transmission system and is endorsed to deliver the fuel efficient performance of 21.58 kmpl.
2671 units of Tata Zest sold in first month after launch
September 12, 2014: Just within a span of a month Tata Zest the new compact sedan from domestic car maker Tata Motors has emerged as one of the bestselling cars offered by car maker. According to reports during the first month of its launch 2671 units of Zest were sold across the Indian car market, thus strengthening the trust of car maker that launch of Zest will improve its position in Indian car market.
Tata Zest records 10,000 bookings in 20 days
September 2, 2014: Tata Zest the recent initiative of domestic car maker has recorded bookings of 10000 units within the period of 20 days after its launch. Going through the over whelming response received from buyers it is speculated that Zest will succeed in taking the height of Tata Motors to new heights. It is also believed that the compact sedan will be tough contender to Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent and Honda Amaze.
Tata Zest AMT version witness the waiting period of three months
August 26, 2014: It is reported that AMT version of Tata Zest has crossed the waiting period of three months, since its launch in Indian car market couple of weeks back. The AMT version has been offered in the top end trim of diesel variant. The AMT version facilitates the driver to choose either for automatic transmission system or manual gear transmission system depending upon his driving preference.

August 12, 2014: Domestic car making company Tata Motors has finally launched its highly awaited compact sedan Zest in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 4.64 lakh (ex-showroom price New Delhi). The compact sedan has been launched in both petrol and diesel variants comprising of overall nine trims in both variants. The petrol variant is empowered with 1.2 litre Revotron petrol engine and is available in four trims while the diesel variant is energized with 1.3 litre Quadrajet engine and is offered in five trims with top end variant coated with five speed automated manual transmission system.

Production of Tata Zest begins at company’s production unit
July 29, 2014: Domestic car making company Tata Motors has started the production of its highly awaited compact sedan Zest at its production unit. The compact sedan is expected to make its debut in Indian car market sometimes during the month of August. It would be launched in both petrol and diesel variants and is expected to be the tough contender for Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze and Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire.
Tata Motors starts the booking of Zest online
July 21, 2014: Domestic car making company Tata Motors has initiated the online booking of its highly awaited sedan Zest in Indian car market at the down payment of Rs. 21,000. The sedan was showcased during the Indian Auto Expo and received an encouraging response from all the segments of audiences present in Auto Expo. Tata Zest to be launched in May 2014
April 22, 2014: With an objective to make its position stronger in Indian car market home grown car manufacturing company Tata Motors has unveiled Tata Zest compact sedan and Tata Bolt hatchback during the Indian Auto Expo 2014. Showcased during the Indian Auto Expo 2014 by the domestic car making company Tata Motor, Zest the compact sedan is going to make its debut in Indian car market by the mid of this year. Tata will launch this compact sedan in both petrol and diesel variant wherein the petrol variant will be equipped with 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged intercooled MPFi petrol engine zooming the power of 84 bhp, while the model under niche of diesel trim will be empowered with 1.3 litre Quadrajet engine churning the power of 89 bhp. The major feature offered in compact sedan includes 5 inch touchscreen HARMAN infotainment system supporting connectivity with Bluetooth. After launch it will compete against Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze and recently launched Xcent by Honda.
Tata Zest power, engine and performance
The petrol variant of Zest is empowered with 4 cylinders and 16 valves, 1.2 litre Revotron petrol engine with displacement capacity of 1193cc. The petrol engine develops the power of 83 bhp at 5000 rpm and torque of 140 Nm at rpm from 1750 to 3500. The engine is coated with five speed manual transmission system that forwards the power to front wheels. Moving ahead the diesel variant as mentioned above is enriched 4 cylinders 16 valves, 1.3 litre Quadrajet diesel engine with displacement capacity of 1248cc. This variant generates the power of 88.73 bhp at 4000 rpm and torque of 200 Nm at rpm from 1750 to 3000 rpm. Apart from being coated with five speed manual gearbox system the diesel variant is also mated with F-Tronic automated manual transmission system. The AMT is system is although offered in XE trim of diesel version it churns the power of 74 bhp at 4000 rpm and torque of 190 Nm at 1750 to 2000 rpm.
Tata Zest Pick up and acceleration
As an impact of being blessed with powerful engine in segment both the petrol and diesel variant of Zest bestow powerful pick up efficiency. Both the variants are capable to break the barrier of 100 kmph within the span of 15 seconds. The top end variant XE however takes 17 to 18 seconds in reaching the mark of 100 kmph, the petrol variant touches it within 15 seconds.
