Tata Sierra Bookings Open Ahead of Launch

November 18, 2025: Tata Motors has unveiled the production-spec 2025 Tata Sierra, with select dealerships beginning unofficial bookings ranging from Rs 11,000 to Rs 51,000. Official bookings are yet to open, but early buyers may benefit from quicker deliveries, expected to start in January 2026. Prices, to be revealed on November 25, are expected to be between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. The Sierra will compete with midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Maruti Victoris. Tata is expected to offer four variants—Smart, Pure, Adventure and Fearless—along with three engine options, including a new 170hp turbo-petrol. More details will emerge at launch.

Tata Sierra Looks

Exterior

The new Tata Sierra proudly retains its iconic look that made the original model an icon, yet it has been meticulously modernised to align with Tata’s contemporary design language. The SUV’s front fascia stands out immediately—a seamless LED light bar spans the width, giving the Sierra a futuristic identity. Below it, the smoked LED headlamps are neatly housed within a bold gloss-black grille, adding noticeable visual width and premium appeal. The muscular bumper, finished with a subtle faux skid plate, reinforces the SUV’s rugged persona without feeling overstyled. Together, these elements present a balanced blend of aggression and sophistication.

Move to its profile and nostalgia kicks in. The Sierra’s signature rectangular rear window—paying homage to the original model—has been reinterpreted with sharper surfacing and cleaner detailing. This retro touch contrasts beautifully with modern elements such as flush door handles, muscular body cladding, and stylish aero-optimised alloy wheels. The multi-spoke wheels add a sporty undertone, while the taut roofline, roof rails, and strong shoulder line highlight its outdoor-ready posture. The Sierra’s side angle remains one of its strongest visuals.

At the rear, Tata has gone with a minimalistic yet premium approach. A single-piece LED tail lamp bar dominates the tailgate, amplifying the SUV’s width. The upright stance, a large roof spoiler, and clean surfacing give it a distinctive retro-futuristic look. Notably, the boot lid integrates small auxiliary lights—an intelligent touch since the entire tailgate lifts upwards. Tata is offering six colours, each adding its own personality: Andaman Adventure (Yellow), Bengal Rouge (Red), Coorg Clouds (Silver), Munnar Mist (Green), Pure Grey and Pristine White. The upcoming EV variant will receive subtle differentiators such as a tweaked grille, revised bumpers, unique alloy wheels and EV badging.

Interior

Step inside the Sierra and the retro inspiration makes way for modern minimalism. The standout feature is the triple-screen layout—one for the driver, one for infotainment, and another for the co-driver—stretching almost the entire width of the dashboard. This setup instantly elevates the cabin’s technological appeal, putting the Sierra among the most advanced interiors in its class.

The four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo lends a premium touch, while colour-coordinated dashboard inserts (inspired by the exterior shades) create a cohesive theme inside. Tata has clearly focused on material quality, with extensive soft-touch surfaces, ambient lighting and refined upholstery. Even smaller components—window switches, steering stalks, and rotary controllers—feel noticeably more premium than any previous Tata model.

Practicality has improved as well. The cabin offers usable cupholders, large door pockets, seat-back storage, an armrest bin, and convenient rear cupholders. The layout feels intelligently thought through for everyday family use.

Rear Seats

The Sierra remains a dedicated 5-seater, prioritising comfort and space over third-row practicality. The rear bench offers generous shoulder room, a wide seating base and excellent visibility thanks to the upright glass area. The panoramic sunroof further enhances the sense of airiness, making long journeys feel relaxed and comfortable. The layout feels almost lounge-like, perfect for highway cruising as well as city usage.

Additional Interior Features

Tata Motors continues its trend of packing its premium models with an exhaustive feature list, and the Sierra sits at the top of that philosophy. The SUV is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, and powered as well as ventilated front seats. Convenience-enhancing features such as wireless charging, a 12-speaker JBL audio setup with a SonicSoundbar, powered tailgate, AR-based head-up display, and a fully digital instrument cluster significantly strengthen its appeal.

Boot Space

The Sierra impresses with a massive 622-litre boot when measured up to the roof. The area is deep and wide, allowing easy stacking of multiple suitcases and duffle bags. A 60:40 split-folding rear seat adds flexibility, though the floor isn’t completely flat when folded. A powered tailgate ensures effortless loading and unloading—an appreciated convenience feature.

Aiming to satisfy the driving expectations of SUV buyers, Tata has offered Sierra with three engine options. All three engines are designed to retain the perfect balance between efficiency and capability. The highlight of the engine lineup is the introduction of a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, producing 160 PS and 255 Nm. This engine configuration offers effortless acceleration in the city and smooth driving on the highway. It comes mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and promises a smooth and engaging drive experience, making it ideal for buyers looking for versatile performance with minimal effort.

For long-distance travellers, the 1.5-litre diesel engine remains a preferred choice. Producing 118 PS and up to 280 Nm of torque, it offers excellent drivability. Its availability with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic widens its appeal. It is believed to offer impressive fuel efficiency, making it a perfect choice for owners driving frequently drive on highways and those who appreciate torque-rich, relaxed cruising.

The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine serves as the entry point into the Sierra lineup. With 106 PS and 145 Nm, it is tuned for smoothness and everyday usability, making it well-suited to urban buyers. It can be paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DCT automatic, giving customers a balance of efficiency and convenience. Underpinning all these engines is Tata’s advanced ARGOS architecture. This modular platform is designed to support a variety of powertrains—including petrol, diesel, CNG, hybrid, and full-electric setups—making it future-ready. Notably, an all-wheel-drive version of the Sierra is also planned, which will appeal to adventure-focused buyers wanting extra capability.

Shortly after the launch of the internal-combustion lineup, Tata also plans to launch its electric version. Based on the company’s new-generation electric architecture, the Sierra EV is expected to offer multiple battery options and a driving range of up to 500 km on a single charge. This upcoming electric variant aims to combine the Sierra’s rugged appeal with a smooth, silent, eco-friendly driving experience.
