New Mercedes Benz R Class launched at INR 58.9 lakh

09 August, 2012: The Mercedes Benz India has today taken the covers off the Mercedes Benz R Class R350 CDI 4Matic. The polished and premium large MPV has got capabilities of an SUV alongside drivability of a sedan. The New R Class that grips a 3.0L, 2987cc V6 diesel engine is priced at Rs 58.9 Lakh (ex showroom, Delhi). The all-wheel-drive (AWD) vehicle can seat as many as 7 occupants inside the playground like cabin.

In India, this is one-of-a-kind product from the luxury carmaker Mercedes, hence not much of competition will be seen, while in the price point it will take on Audi Q7 and BMW X5. As of now, the premium MPV will be offered in diesel version with Long Wheel Base (LWB) edition.

The feature list is quite long with class leading elements like Thermotronic, Parktronic, Air suspensions, day-time running LEDs, and steel chassis with air suspension system at the back to provide coziness and improve driving dynamics. Along with superior engine the mileage part is also worth considering with company claiming 11.25 kmpl. Some other awe-inspiring features comprise of electric sunroof chrome package and an 18-inch ten spoke alloys. Moreover there is music player with 6-disc CD changer, USB, 3-zone automatic climate control, electrically-powered telescopic steering wheel, memory function seat and AC for rear row passengers.
