New Kia Seltos Goes on Sale in India, Prices Start at Rs 10.99 Lakh

Janaury 2, 2026: The new-generation Kia Seltos has been launched in India with the starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh and going high to Rs 19.99 lakh. The carmaker initiated the bookings on December 11 for Rs 25,000, with deliveries starting mid-January. It features a bolder, boxier design, a more premium cabin with large displays, and enhanced features and safety tech. The SUV retains three 1.5-litre engine options, while a hybrid variant is planned for the future.
 

2026 Kia Seltos Unveiled Globally

 
December 10, 2025: Kia has globally unveiled the all-new 2026 Seltos in Hyderabad, marking a major generational update for the popular midsize SUV. The model features a larger, more aggressive exterior with redesigned LED lighting, flush door handles, and new alloy wheels. Inside, it gets a fully revamped cabin with a floating dual-screen setup, wireless smartphone connectivity, dual-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. The familiar 1.5-litre petrol, turbo-petrol, and diesel engines return, now supported by three new traction modes. Bookings open on December 12, ahead of its January 1, 2026 launch.

December 2, 2025: Kia is set to unveil the new-generation Seltos in India on December 10, 2025, and has released a teaser showcasing major design upgrades. The SUV features new vertically and horizontally stacked LEDs, C-shaped DRLs, a wider grille, and a panoramic sunroof. Interior details remain undisclosed, but a refreshed cabin is expected. Kia may retain its current 1.5L engine options while also introducing a possible strong-hybrid variant. Transmission choices will likely include manual, iMT, and automatic with improved refinement.

 

 

 

Kia Seltos Looks

Exterior Design

The new-generation Seltos carries Kia’s global design philosophy in a more impressive and rugged way. The front fascia is enhanced with a rectangular gloss-black grille that stretches across the width of the SUV, further enhanced by square-shaped LED headlamps and sleeker DRLs. The bumper is equipped with bold elements which add an extra touch to its muscular stance. In short, the overall front fascia design looks more muscular than before, giving the SUV a stronger visual identity.
 

Side Profile

The increased length makes the SUV look larger and more athletic from the side. The combination of sharper character lines, flush-type door handles, strong wheel arches and new 18-inch alloy wheels gives the SUV a modern and premium appearance. Lower variants receive 17-inch alloys or 16-inch steel wheels, depending on the configuration, but the design remains cohesive across the lineup.
 

Rear Profile

Kia has worked hard to give the rear of the new Seltos a completely new look with LED taillamps that bear resemblance to the Sonet but in a larger, more sophisticated format. The tail lamp signature now integrates smoothly across the rear, giving the SUV a wider look. The rear bumper and roof-mounted spoiler give the SUV a sportier look. This makes the new Seltos look more contemporary and premium compared to its predecessor.
 

Colours

Kia offers the 2026 Seltos in 10 monotone colour choices, including Morning Haze, Magma Red, Frost Blue, Ivory Silver Gloss, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Gravity Grey, Glacier White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl and the X-Line exclusive Xclusive Matte Graphite. Additionally, Glacier White Pearl and Magma Red can be paired with an Aurora Black Pearl dual-tone roof for added visual distinction.
 

Interior Design

Moving inside the cabin, the new Seltos adopts Kia’s latest interior styling philosophy, which not only makes the interior look modern and premium, but also makes it driver-friendly. Depending on the variant, interior themes range from Smoky Black with Hunter Green accents in the X-Line to Brown-Grey dual-tone in the Tech Line, and Black-White themes in the GT Line. The generous use of soft-touch materials on the dashboard, door pads and seats significantly elevates the sense of quality.
 

Dashboard & Technology

The dashboard integrates a three-screen setup, consisting of a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display (on higher variants), and a dedicated touchscreen panel for climate control functions. Despite the addition of screens, Kia has integrated the control buttons of all functions at one place, making it easier to use while driving. The larger screens deliver crisp graphics, a smooth interface and wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
 

Front Seats & Comfort

The driver’s seat now offers 10-way power adjustment with memory and lumbar support, giving it a distinctly premium feel. Variants from HTK onward offer tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, while height adjustment for the driver is standard across all trims. Ventilated front seats, available on higher variants, further enhance comfort during long drives or hot weather.
 

Features & Infotainment

The Seltos continues to be one of the most feature-loaded SUVs in its class. Premium conveniences such as a panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, an 8-speaker BOSE sound system, wireless charging, drive and traction modes, a rotary gear selector (variant-specific), and connected car technology solidify its position as a tech-rich product. The interface on the 12.3-inch system runs smoothly and feels intuitive, making it easy for users of all ages to adapt.
 

Boot Space

Offering 447 litres of boot capacity, the Seltos provides one of the most practical luggage areas in the segment. The 60:40 split-folding rear seats add versatility, allowing users to expand the storage area for longer items. A spare wheel is placed beneath the boot floor, maintaining practicality without compromising cargo volume.

Kia Seltos Performance

The Korean carmaker Kia has not left any stone unturned in designing the new 2026 Kia Seltos to continue its legacy, which played a vital role in establishing its roots in the Indian car market. Built on Kia’s global K3 platform, the new Seltos has grown in size, features, technology and overall sophistication. It continues to sit strongly in the mid-size SUV segment and goes up against well-established rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, MG Astor and the upcoming Renault Duster and Nissan Tekton. Performance & Powertrains

Mechanically, the 2026 Kia Seltos continues to come equipped with the same existing engine configurations. Buyers can choose between a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, CVT, 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT, depending on the engine chosen. The turbo-petrol continues to offer the most engaging performance, while the diesel variant remains a favourite for long-distance and high-mileage users.
 

Safety

The new Seltos comes equipped with a comprehensive safety features, many of which are standard across all variants. These include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-start assist, all-wheel disc brakes, ISOFIX mounts, tyre pressure monitoring system and a rear camera with sensors. Higher variants add front and side parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and a robust Level-2 ADAS package that includes blind-spot monitoring, forward collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and high-beam assist.
