Honda To Launch Facelift Jazz By The End of July 2018

July 4, 2018: Finally, the Japanese car maker Honda Motors is going to launch the facelift Jazz hatchback in the Indian car market by end of this moth. Prior to this the carmaker had launched facelift Jazz in native market back in May 2017. Continuing with the existing engine configurations of 1.2 lite i-VTEC petrol and 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine. The cosmetic changes are reported to be outsourced from facelift version launched in Japanese car market.

August 17, 2015: It is reported that Honda’s new initiative Jazz hatchback has received an over whelming response from Indian car enthusiasts. According to reports within the span of a month after its launch on July 8, 2015, car maker has sold about 9000 units of this premium hatchback. The worth mentioning feature of new Jazz is introduction of diesel variant. Launched in both petrol and diesel variant the petrol variant is empowered with 1.2 litre i-VTEC engine followed by 1.5 litre 0-DTEC diesel engine.

July 8, 2015: Finally after a long wait Japanese auto giant Honda Motors today launched the refreshed version Jazz hatchback in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 5.30 lakh (ex-showroom price New Delhi). The new Jazz has been this time offered with diesel variant also and now the buyers of have option of buying from both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant is offered with 1.2 litre i-VTEC petrol engine that will generate the power of 90 bhp and torque of 110 Nm. The engine would be offered with both five speed manual gear transmission system and CVT automatic transmission system with paddle shifters. The diesel variant has been offered with 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine that will churn the power of 98 bhp and torque of 200 Nm and mated with six speed manual gear transmission system.

Honda Jazz Looks

In the refreshed version of Jazz company has continued its aerodynamic appearance, however has endeavored to give it more contemporary look. The front fascia receives windscreen with regular wipers, radiator grille receives glossy black color treatment which further enhances its look followed by integration of wraparound headlight cluster along with halogen lights and turn indicators. The V and VX versions are offered with alloy wheels while other trims are offered with steel trims. The side profile has been offered with character lines which gives fascinating look to side profile of this hatchback. On the rear portion you will find rear bumper integrating two air vents, the tailgate receives chrome plate with logo of company. The rear spoiler integrates stop lamp mounted at height.

Spacious cabin to offer comfort seating experience to passengers is the major attraction of new Jazz. The combination of beige and black colors further explores the beauty of interiors. The three spoke steering wheel is enriched with buttons to control audio playback. The CVT system in petrol trim is offered with steering with paddle shifters but these features are offered in top end trims of petrol variant. The dashboard is blessed with various features including accessory power sockets, glove box and some more controlling switches. The central console receives black glossary color followed by combination meter and AC vents receiving silver garnish. Availability of driver seat height adjuster is additional feature offered in remaining variants, apart from base variant.

Additional comfort features offered inside the cabin are air conditioner system followed by touch screen control for AC on top end variants, power steering wheel, electronic ORVMs, central locking system, front passenger side vanity mirror, rear parcel shift and also a clock.

Honda Jazz, Power, Engine and Performance:

The petrol variant of Jazz is offered with 1.2 litre i-VTEC petrol engine with displacement capacity of 1199cc. The engine has been enriched with fuel injection technology to deliver better fuel performance. This engine is capable of boosting the poer of 89 bhp at 6000 rpm and torque of 110Nm at 4800 rpm. This engine configuration is offered in overall seven trims with five trims with five speed manual gearbox followed by CVT automatic transmission system in top two trims. The petrol version is endorsed to deliver fuel efficient performance of 18.7 kmpl on highway and 16.5 kmpl in urban areas.

Moving towards diesel variant it is energized with 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine which has displacement capacity of 1498 cc. This engine boosts the power of 98.6 bhp at 3600 rpm and torque of 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. This engine is mated with six speed manual gear transmission system. As far as fuel performance is concerned it is said to be most fuel efficient hatchback in segment that will deliver the fuel efficient performance of 27.3 kmpl on highway and 25.5 kmpl in urban areas.

Honda Jazz Pick-up and Acceleration

Offered with 1.2 litre i-VTEC petrel engine this variant and touch the mark of 100 kmph between 11 to 13 seconds followed by top notch of 155 kmph. The diesel variant on the other hand is energized with 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine and is capable of breaking the mark of 100 kmph approximately in 12 seconds and offers the top speed of almost 180 kmph.

The mandatory accessories offered by car maker in this hatchback are music system with 3.r5 inch screen supporting connectivity USB, iPod, iPhone, AUX-In and also 5 inch screen with CD player. The top end trims are embellished with 6.2 inch touchscreen infotainment system offering visual navigation. Apart from this other accessories that are offered by company are front grille front underline spoiler, armrest console, step illumination, new alloy wheels and mandatory seat covers. With an objective to overcome the mistakes done in past with hatchback Jazz, Japanese car maker Honda Motors has launched its refreshed version enriched with contemporary features in Indian car market. An interesting feature of new Jazz is its diesel variant which is expected to wash out the drawbacks of erstwhile Jazz. In-fact it would be interested to know that introduction of diesel engine in cars by Japanese manufacturer has played an important role in strengthening the position of car maker in Indian car market. This can be witnessed from the success of cars that are launched in recent years by Honda and that were offered with diesel engine like Amaze, new Honda City, Honda Mobilio and now it is speculated that Jazz will also enjoy the same success.

Well coming back to new Jazz it is offered in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant is energized with 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine and is divided into seven versions with top two versions offered with CVT automatic transmission system.
