September 5, 2013: BMW, German luxurious car manufacturer has finally launched its highly awaited BMW 1 series in India with price tag of Rs. 20.9 lakh. BMW has launched 1 series in both petrol and diesel variant. The petrol variant has been equipped with 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol engines that develops the power of 136 bhp churning the torque of 220 Nm. The diesel variant is empowered with 2.0 litre 4 cylinder twin power turbocharged engine, developing the power of 143 bhp and torque of 320 Nm.

As mentioned above BMW has launched 1 Series in both petrol and diesel variants that are equipped with 1.6 petrol engine and 2.0 litre diesel engine respectively. The petrol engine is equipped with 4 cylinders and two turbo chargers which develop the power of 136 bhp at 4400 rpm and torque of 220 Nm at 4600 rpm with displacement capacity of 1598 cc. The diesel variant is equipped with 2.0 litre and has displacement capacity of 1995 cc. The twin turbo chargers generate the power of 143 bhp at 4000 rpm and torque of 320 Nm at 2500 rpm. Both engines have been supported by eight speed automatic transmission gearbox.

The 1.6 litre petrol engine can accelerate the speed of 100 kmph with the span of 11.2 seconds and top speed of 195 kmph within few seconds. On the other side the diesel variant of 2.0 litre engine can achieve the speed of 100 kmph within the time margin of 8.9 seconds and high speed of 210 kmph in short time.
