What will be the waiting period for new Maruti Swift?

With a large number of buyers rushing to book their unit of all new Maruti Swift, it has become the question of the hour that what will be the waiting period for this high-in-demand cars has been merely a few weeks since the company started receiving bookings for the Swift model in the Indian market and booking figures have already crossed 40,000 unit mark.

If the booking figures continue to grow at the current pace, the number could reach to 60,000 units till the launch of the car takes place in the country about a week later. Moreover, the bookings took place till now are of the buyers who have blind faith in Maruti’s pricing and quality as they have booked the car even before the announcement of the pricing and specifications. This means, once the pricing and feature details will be announced, the number of buyers opting for swift will surge at an even higher pace.

Now, considering the total manufacturing capacity of Maruti Plant of 18,000 units per month, it would take the company a few months to clear the existing backlog only. Thus, the buyers who will be booking the car near to its launch may have to wait for at least up to 3-4 months for the delivery of the car. Looking at the current capacity of the company, it would take about 4 months to clear the backlog once the car gets launched, indicating towards a high waiting period.

However, the company may decide to enhance the production of the new Swift once the demand crossed a certain level, decreasing the waiting period for the car.
