What Should be the Competitive Price of Maruti Suzuki Jimny?
Surprises can happen anywhere without any clue of their happening and the Indian Auto Expo is not an exception to it. If you go back to the history of Auto Expo shows that are organized across the world, you will notice the surprise packages disclosed by the major carmakers. Interestingly, the same happened at the stand of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, during the recently concluded Indian Auto Expo 2020. The main objective of such surprises during such events is to attract the crowd and make the audiences curious about the product.
Well, during the show the stand of Indo-Japanese had displayed the production version of the Jimny SUV, which in its first generation was named Gypsy and had a huge fan following, especially those who prefer to enjoy off-road driving. But, what is the reason behind display or Jimny or the company is launching Jimny in the Indian car market, etc, were few questions that were emerging in the minds of visitors. Because, since the company has announced to bring Jimny in India, the SUV had been making news in the internet world at regular intervals.
Anyhow, without creating much fuss among the visitors, the organizers started asking the visitors the price they would like to pay for Jimny. Although, in the beginning, the customers started guessing between Rs. 5 lakh and Rs. 6 lakh, but then some enthusiasts priced the upgraded Gypsy aka Jimny in the range of Rs. 8 lakh to Rs. 9 lakh. Guessing this much of price for Jimny sounds something disappointing for the company, especially in the scenario when it is selling the same vehicle in the International car market with price range getting closer to Rs. 14 lakh and so on.
So, what should be the competitive price of Jimny in the Indian car market is the major question in front of the carmaker, because with no more new products in the pipeline, the company is looking for something which could grab the attention of car enthusiasts and help it in retaining its existing position.
