The Superiority Discussion of Maruti SX4

India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki; made a wise decision by launching the fuel efficient diesel model of Maruti SX4, looking at the current scenario of fuel price inflation. It is assumed to offer a tough competition to Volkswagen Vento (a plush sedan with a winning title of the World Car of the Year) and the Fiat Linea (the Italian Multijet beauty). This new diesel variant from Maruti Suzuki has a lot more surprises to unfold.

But the mentality of Indian customers is really hard to divert as the customer satisfaction of Maruti is amazing. Still the search for the most reliable Sedan is in progress as today the buyer priorities are not jus limited to internal comforts and driving satisfaction but now extended till being pampered by the outside world.

The external appearance of Fiat Linea is enhanced by the superb side lines and detailed styling and is the most sought after by looks. Maruti Suzuki plans to offer the typical Indian looks as the manufacturers know the inside story. The typical bold appearance is suited for Indian market, the aggressive appearing cues and bulging fenders would also help increase its market share. But the king of the roads in looks is the elegant Volkswagen Vento which flaunts the European designing with the classic back linings and the beautiful windscreen.

However the interior section still needs more refinement as only Vento offers some upscale features with better material quality but fails to offer the European finishing. The centre console is overcrowded in Fiat Linea, while that of Volkswagen Vento and Maruti SX4 are sober. Though, the seating comfort could be felt well in the Maruti SX4, which offers spacious and comfortable environment. Thus in Internal Appearance Volkswagen Vento steals the show.

The engine specifications of Fiat Linea and the new engine of Maruti SX4 is literally same that is the 1.3 Litre Multijet, VGT turbocharged engine having capabilities of generating a Maximum power of 90 PS and an ample torque output of 200 Nm. The smooth and relaxed Volkswagen Vento engine is a bit bigger in displacement criterion. The 1.6 litre diesel engine produces more or less similar figures of Maximum power and torque output of 105 PS and 250 Nm respectively. Again in figures and real engine performance Volkswagen Vento stands out of the three.

The driving experience in Volkswagen Vento is a little painful as a lot of effort is done on uneven roads, the gear shift and the steering feels hard while it offers a composed handling. The Fiat Linea has are really smooth drive and the steering if almost feather touch. Now with the new diesel engine Maruti SX4, could give a flying feeling at city roads with easy handling, but the tall dimensions are a nightmare as it makes the driver less confident while turning rest all is fine. The rear space availability is the largest in SX4, while Fiat Linea makes its way smoothly through rough roads Volkswagen Vento still finds it a lot difficult with less attractive rear seats. Here Maruti Suzuki SX4 is the winner with better handling and rear comforts.

Finally after this discussion we find that Fiat Linea is the best deal as this diesel sedan offers amazing technical features with the best price tag. Volkswagen Vento is for those who love to flaunt their vehicle and sacrifice the engine performance. Lastly, Maruti SX4 also provided really nice spacing comforts but lost the battle due to its overpricing.

Maruti Suzuki however with its ‘Made for India’ appeal attracts more Indian customers.
