The next generaion version of the Skoda Laura sedan appears to very much improved as compared to the current model of the same. The commercial launch of the car is scheduled for next year at the Geneva Motor Show.

In the second half of 2013 the car is likely to see launch in Indian. The 2013 Skoda Octavia will be replacing the ongoing model of Skoda Laura. So far, in the Indian car bazaar, Octavia was being sold with the Laura badge and this fashion might be continued in future as well. The 2013 Skoda Octavia would be improved in almost every way, even in the dimensions. It will have bigger proportions, while the exteriors and interiors would come enhanced as well.Because of extended wheelbase, the interior comfort has automatically increased here. The length of the new Octavia will now be 1782mm, which would in turn provide bonus legroom and knee room for all occupants. The new Octavia is much lighter than the current model.

coming to technicalities of the new sedan, the 2013 Skoda Octavia/Laura will be launched with four petrol and four turbo diesel engines. The turbo petrol engine comprise of 1.2 litre TSI, whereas the diesel engine will have the 1.6 litre of TDI motor. The top-end variant of the new Octavia will have 1.8 litre TSI petrol engine and 2.0 litre of TDI diesel mill. Both engines will be offered with six speed manual and seven speed automatic transmission options.
