New Hyundai i20 Fluidic coming this April

It seems like the country’s second largest car maker Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) has decided to upgrade all of its portfolio models to its new age fluidic design concept. After launching the new fluidic version of Verna sedan and rolling-out small car Eon with the same concept, the company is now looking forward to launch all new Hyundai i20 Fluidic in the Indian market. 2012 Hyundai i20 Facelift, one of the most awaited cars in the global market, is all set to mark its entry in India, in the month of April 2012. The new Hyundai i20 will be first unveiled at the forth coming Geneva Motor Show this month, where a large number of car enthusiasts will be present to take the first glimpse of this car.

The South Korean auto giant Hyundai Motors has already revealed the first official images of the new generation Hyundai i20 model. The Hyundai i20 facelift carries a light fluidic treatment at the front profile, the same designing characteristic that has been used for the development of Hyundai Verna sedan, upcoming premium sedan Sonata Fluidic and small car Hyundai Eon.

The newly revealed pictures of the car show that the front of the car has been upgraded majorly, in a bid to give it a more urban look. The Hyundai designers have added new fog lamp housing to that car while keeping the design of the headlamps unchanged. The chin is now broader coupled with a new hood and new hexagonal grille. Similar to the other fluidic design portfolio vehicles like Verna and Sonata, the company designers have done slight changes in the rear profile of the car including newly designed tail lamps and bumpers. Other upgrades at the exterior of new Hyundai i20 include newly styled alloy-wheels.

While the exterior of the new i20 model is carrying a major upgrade, there will be comparatively minor change at the interior front including a new interior color theme and improvement in terms of quality and styling. However, the company is yet to reveal the details of the interiors of the car, and we have to wait till its official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show in coming weeks.

Besides carrying a number of cosmetic changes, the i20 Fluidic will be carrying a more refined engine in both petrol and diesel versions, carrying improvements in terms of power, fuel economy and emission level.

At present, i20 is one of the popular Hyundai portfolio vehicles in India. The car is competing with the likes of Maruti Swift, Skoda Fabia, Honda Jazz and Nissan Micra. The company hopes that the addition of new fluidic design in the Hyundai i20 model will enable this model to reach the same success that has been achieved by its sibling the new Hyundai Verna Fluidic sedan.
