MG Motors To Embark Its Innings In India From May 15, 2019
With lots of expectations and preparations the British car maker MG Motors will officially commence its inning in the Indian car market on May 15, 2019 with its entry level vehicle which will be christened as Hector. According to recent reports the company will unveil the compact SUV Hector on May 15, 2019 and will finally launch the same during the month of June this year. The company will also start the bookings of the same after revealing all the minute details associated with the crossover SUV. The Hector has been already caught under the lenses on several occasions undergoing the test drives.
Identically the Hector looks similar to its twin Baojun 530 SUV, which is sold under the flagship of MG Motors in the international car market. On the basis of the pictures captured by spies the exterior of the Hector will be equipped with LED headlight studded at the beneath of the front bumper followed by slim LED daytime running lights mounted at the top of the bumper, the chrome garnished front bumper is embellished eye catching MG logo mounted on it. The features offered on the exterior portion consists of diamond cut alloy wheels, reflector connecting the tail lamps, front and rear faux skid plates and a split roof spoiler.
Mechanically, the Hector will be offered with 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol engine and 2.0 litre diesel engine outsourced from FCA. The transmission duties would be performed by six speed manual gear transmission system, followed by six-speed dual clutch automatic transmission system. Along with fuel based variants the Hector will also be offered with 48-volt mild-hybrid version that is endorsed to offer 12 percent improved fuel efficient performance as compared to petrol variant.
Inside the cabin, it is speculated to be offered with a plethora of contemporary features. The list of interior features consists of 360 degree camera, six-way power adjustable driver seat, push-button start, cruise control, keyless entry, tyre pressure monitoring, panoramic sunroof and a Harman infinity audio system. Along with these features the interior will also be embellished with Hector’s iSmart Connectivity Feature Suite which supports connectivity with 10.4 inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system with AI powered voice assist system, and pre-loaded applications.
As far as the price of the MG Hector is concerned, it is believed to be offered in the range of Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh (ex-showroom price) and will compete against the existing leaders like Jeep Compass and Tata Harrier.
