Get Ready for the Grand Comeback of Renault Duster

Get Ready for the Grand Comeback of Renault Duster

The name of Renault Duster doesn’t require any introduction in the Indian car market. The iconic compact SUV set the benchmark for other manufacturers to step into this segment. Launched by the French carmaker Renault, Duster received an overwhelming response from buyers in India. However, after almost a decade, the compact SUV was discontinued from the market due to the absence of regular updates.

Now once again, the Duster is in the limelight, as  Renault has officially confirmed that the new-generation Renault Duster will be unveiled on 26th January 2026, marking a significant comeback for one of India’s most loved SUVs.  Renault is now all set to revive the Duster as the first product under its International Game Plan 2027.

Design and Exterior Highlights
The 2025 Renault Duster is expected to carry a completely new design inspired by the international model. From what’s been revealed globally, it will feature tri-arrow LED DRLs integrated within the headlamps, a rugged bumper with fog lamps on either side, and bold Renault lettering on the front grille. The side profile looks muscular with massive wheel arches, sporty alloy wheels, and prominent fenders, giving it an aggressive SUV stance. The rear will include a roof-mounted spoiler, shark fin antenna, distinct tail lamps, and a sturdy bumper, adding to its robust appeal.

Interior and Features: Inside, the new Duster aims to offer a modern, feature-rich cabin to match current market trends. Based on the global version, expect features like:

A digital instrument cluster
A floating touchscreen infotainment display
Tri-arrow-style AC vents and a textured dashboard
Rotary drive mode selector and physical HVAC controls
Multiple USB charging ports and a spacious layout
A chunky, multifunction steering wheel (possibly hexagonal in shape)

On the safety front, Renault might introduce ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), further strengthening the SUV’s safety quotient.

Expected Engine and Transmission Options: Renault has not yet disclosed official engine specifications. However, speculations suggest that the new Duster could feature the 1.3-litre HR13 turbo-petrol engine producing around 156 hp. Additionally, Renault might also offer a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine—borrowed from the Kiger but tuned for higher performance. Both manual and automatic transmission options are expected to be available, making the SUV accessible to a wider audience.

Final Thoughts
The new Renault Duster represents a fresh chapter for Renault India. With a blend of modern design, advanced technology, and potential performance upgrades, it’s ready to re-enter a highly competitive SUV market. The grand unveiling on Republic Day 2026 is bound to draw attention from enthusiasts and loyalists alike.
