The Italian auto cos has been garnering good sales in Europe though in India it is a dud seller. Fiat’s Panda and Punto are one of the popular models of Fiat in Europe. India’s premium segment is ruled by Maruti Swift and Hyundai’s i20 hatchbacks. Fiat somehow failed to attenuate sales of these two best selling premium hatchbacks.

Fiat as of now offers Fiat Linea and Fiat Punto in India, the auto honcho launched the upgraded versions of both the cars earlier in January this year. Despite giving a mid life facelift to the Linea sedan and Punto hatchback, Fiat could not see any surge in the demand for both the cars. Speculations were also rife of late that Fiat was contemplating to pluck a few models from its global bouquet and bring few Chrysler cars to India. Fiat cars surprisingly failed to woo the Indian customers, however, the company has recently signed a pact with Maruti Suzuki India to source diesel engines to them. Fiat is also looking to tie-up with other auto cos just like it did with Maruti Suzuki India to gain success in India.
