Electric Cars That Will Debut In India During 2019
With all the countries throughout the world moving towards electric mobility, the government of India is also concern towards this thought and has already initiated a program to electrify the Indian car market by 2032. According to this program during these years the government will work on developing the infrastructure like high power fast-charging stations, minimizing the cost of batteries, offering the substantial subsidy to car manufacturers and the buyers etc.
Interestingly, understanding the concern of the government towards electrification, the motorists in India have also started shifting towards these vehicles, as not only these vehicles generate low emissions, but, also it is helpful in developing their image of environmental concern in front of their known ones. This is gradually increasing the interest of people towards electric vehicles. Going through this, almost every car manufacturing company has already initiated a strategy of launching the electric vehicles under their flagship, especially the companies like Nissan, Hyundai, Mahindra are ready to launch their electric vehicles in the Indian car market sometime during this year in the Indian car market.
Nissan Leaf Electric: Japanese carmaker Nissan unveiled the second generation of its luxurious sedan Leaf in the International car market back in 2017 and is getting to launch the same in the Indian car market during next couple of months. Under the hood, the Nissan Leaf, electric will be empowered with 40 kWh battery that is capable of giving an average of 400 kms drive on a single charge. It generates the power of 148 bhp and the torque of 320Nm. The sedan takes almost eight to sixteen hours in charging, depending upon the efficiency of the battery. The Leaf is the first vehicle by the company to be equipped with Pro PILOT Park system, that is helpful in parking the vehicle in tight spaces by taking over the steering wheel.

Mahindra KUV100 Electric: Last year, the domestic carmakers Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra has signed an MoU with the government of India to supply their electric vehicles to the government departments for encouraging the use of electric vehicles within the country. Now, taking a step ahead in this direction homegrown car manufacturing company Mahindra & Mahindra is going to launch the electric version of its compact SUV KUV100 in the Indian car market in 2019, followed by the electric crossover in 2020.

Hyundai Kona: Hyundai Motors India Limited, the Indian arm of Korean carmaker Hyundai Motors is all set to launch its first electric SUV Kona in the Indian car market. It is believed that after launching its electric version the company also plans to bring its regular versions empowered with petrol and diesel engines. Mechanically, the Kona will be empowered with 39.2 kWh battery that will run upto 300 kms after a single charge. With the top speed of 155 kmph, the SUV is capable of touching the mark of 100 kmph in the span of 9.2 seconds. The worth mentioning feature of Kona is that it has been honored with five-star safety ranking at Euro NCAP test.
